Arctic Passion is a personal blog about the passion for the beauty of the nature in Nordic countries, about the passion for the magic of the polar night with its tender shades, about the green fire of the dancing northern lights, about the pure silence of winter as well as the persistent creaking of the skis on harsh snow, the monotonous panting of the sled dogs during a ride through a chilling winters night and mysterious animal tracks in the snow. But it is also about the passion for the intensity of endless summer nights and the midnight sun, for the many-voiced chirping of migrating birds that come to the north for breeding during the warm time of the year, for the buzzing of herds of mosquitoes and for the blaze of colors during autumn. It is about the fascination for life in the cold, the Nordic way of living and the myths and traditions of the people living in the north.
I’m living in Norway since 2012. Two years earlier, I came to Norway for the first time as a student and I fell in love with the country, the landscape in Norway and the Nordic art of living. After finishing my studies, I moved to the county of Finnmark which is situated in the northernmost part of Norway and I now call this place my home.
About what can you read on Arctic Passion?
In this blog I write about the nature and landscapes of the north as well as locations and encounter with the people living there. I write about the live and way of living in those cold regions and I share my favorite cooking recipes of the Nordic cuisine with you. Since I’m not a typical tourist who visits all the common tourist features but is rather looking for the unique charm of a place, I also write about my experiences in my own personal way.
Why did I create this blog?
This is my very personal blog that I started for my friends and family after moving to Norway. But after a while I noticed that also other people are interested in the topics I write about. Moreover, I noticed that I really liked the whole process of blogging – travelling, taking pictures, writing!
So, if you are interested in the same topics and if you like this blog, feel free to join me on my journey into the cold and beauty of the north.
