Ever since my mother once took me to Heligoland, a small island in the North Sea, when I was a child, I have been fascinated by what you can find on the beach. Back then, I spent hours on the beach hunting for treasures and returned in the evening with all sorts of of them. Since I grew up inland, this was an entirely new and captivating world for me.

Nowadays, I live by the sea in the northwest of Norway, and even after more than forty years, I haven’t lost my childlike enthusiasm for the treasure hunt on the beach. The only difference is that instead of collecting things, I now prefer to take my camera and capture the details in photographs. And I could spend hours doing that too.
