“How do you cope with the long, dark polar night when the sun is gone for two months?” That’s a question I get asked often. The answer? It’s quite simple: I can see the moon in winter time. When the sun is above the horizon all day long in summer, it’s very difficult to spot the moon—let alone take a picture of it. That’s why I was all the more delighted today to be able to see the first moon of the year so clearly.
