For me, the most exciting time at work is in December when the Snowhotel is built. As soon as one room is finished, the ice artists start their work with hammer and chisel and they conjure fabulous figures into the walls. Shortly before x-mas the Snowhotel is finished. Although this is going to be the seventh winter season here for me, I am still surprised how wonderful these figures are.
A husky is greeting the guest joyfully in the ice bar.
You will find several kind of arctic animals on the wall as well as the most famous Norwegian polar explorer: Roald Amundsen.
Behind the ice bar you will find the reception where you can check in. Then comes a hallway and the rooms are both on the right and left side of the hallway.
The beds are comfortable and in some rooms a fire is burning in the open fireplace because the normal temperature in the Snowhotel lies at -4°C.
Each room has its own individual decoration and also in the hallway are some sculptures on the wall.
And which is now my favorite room where I would like to sleep for one night?
Of course that one with the howling husky!
