Public life has come to a halt in Norway due to COVID-19. Like many other employees, I am also on “obligatory holidays”. But, since winter time is always a quite bustling time with a lot of work for me, I am enjoying these quiet days right now. Finally, I have time again to explore my surroundings with my camera.
I took a walk along the bank of Prestøya (priest island). Prestøya is a small peninsula in Kirkenes situated at the estuary of the Pasvik river into the Bøkfjord. The sun is shining when I start my exploration and I don’t have to go far until I find the first treasures: Tracks in the snow, ice-gnomes and weird sculptures made by the tide.
But soon it is overclouded and it begins to snow. The colors in the landscape turn into a milky-grey and the only colorful spot I can find is an ice-block at the beach which is slightly blue.
