What happens if you cross a dinosaur with a viking ship? You will get a monster called Drakkar which is living on the barren coast of the Varanger peninsula. I only had to walk twenty minutes out of Vardø to meet this sea monster.

Drakkar-Leviathan, which is the name of this beast, was created in 2016 by the Taibola Assemble, a group of artists from Arkhangelsk in Russia. Drakkar is telling us stories about the Arctic and its nature as well as about the people living there. But you can also hear tales about the sea, the migration of the people, their myths and ships as well as anecdotes about historical events, about wood and whales.

Which story you will hear depends on the direction where the wind is coming from and what the wind is whispering to you.
